Long Shot

I am writing an article on Camp Kearny which was a National Guard mobilization camp near San Diego, CA. I am trying to find some more information on the British and French military missions that were there to train the doughboys for the war in Franch. The commander of the British mission was Major V.E.C. Dashwood, MC. I am looking for some more information on this man and I thought I'd have some luck since he had been awarded the Military Cross. I've tried the web and the only book I could find on Military Cross awardees was for Military Cross and Bar awardees. Any assistance on this gentlemen or general information on military missions to the US during WWI would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ian
