Hoping someone may be able to help me. I was in a store today and saw an original large photo of a group of uniformed men. The photo was taken by Climo Studio Halifax and was dated 1943. The photo shows dozens of men seated outside a stone/brick building, all in full uniform. Everyone is named in the space below the photo. The heading is K K Division, July-October? 1943. I remembered C.H.Bonnycastle was listed as Commander and that is the only name I remember. Does anyone know what KK Division was in 1943- possibly a training group?
Thanks for any assistance you can give or any leads you may have. I was also thinking that someone (especially with a family member in the photo) would probably like to have the photo and wanted to give a heads up to them. I may go there tomorrow with a camera and take a photo of the picture/names and post it.
Found the answer so I thought I would post it. It was designation for a training class for the RCN at the University of King's College in Windsor, Nova Scotia. From 1941 to 1945, the College buildings became His Majesty's Canadian Ship, "HMCS King's", where officers were trained for the Royal Canadian Navy.
