Hello to All

I finally reach to find a collarless OR shirt for my FMR on Dieppe mannequin

- Seems like this one is a British made, if i'm right the collarless shirt have been replaced by collared shirt in mid 1944 ?

- Does anyone has a same manufacturer "Banner" ?

Nicolas:

Thank you for posting the images of your shirts and keeping us up-to-date on you quest to complete your mannequin.

The shirt that you have is not a true 'collarless' for if you have a good look at it, you will see that it has the three button holes for the attachement of a collar. Since OR's did not have a need for a collar, I tend to think these shirts were manufactured for Officer's. Why the button holes, well it would have been very easy to replace worn or dirty collars rather than the whole shirt.

I have a 1942 dated Caandian collarless shirt, and will post an image for you.

Collared shirts, first US EM shirts and latter British made examples were introduced to the Canadian Army late in 1944. The 1st Canadian Corps in Italy had been using US EM shirts for some time in that theatre.

Australian shirts

I have a couple of Australian issue shirts with collars that came as part of a Regina Rifles officer's grouping. Is it possible that the officer obtained the shirts through official channels? There was also a collarless shirt with the grouping that has no provision for attaching a collar which seems odd for an officer.
