Oh, yes. I loved that Incline and rode it many a time. It used to cut 4 miles of switchbacks off the Barr Trail, getting you up to my favorite part between the top of the Incline and Barr Camp. You could find wild strawberries in season up there and revel in the intense taste of those little berries, by the way. It made an afternoon hike memorable.
You are right about the fantastic views. And each ride down was a little thrill, despite the same old jokes about going straight to KS if the cable ever broke, etc, that the conductor told every year. I was crushed when they closed it down.
