I have lived here 7 years this month and I have never seen it open. I thought all along it was an old railroad tunnel - even though I have stopped and read the info - but I can't remember a lick of it LOL -

that's for sure. between the load of traffic on 67 and the fact that it was falling in, i think it is done. in the you can see how they cut the road through the mountain. that was not there originally.

and I hated it when I learned they were never going to open it again!! I am like you Phil, I loved going in there and taking the chance that you might meet up with another car and have to back out, but I never did!! People were very courteous and we never had a problem with the tunnel!! Thanks for the memory!! Love you, Littlehands

there were a few times we DID have to back out..i think it is the uphill driver that is suppose to do that, yes? that is bad i can't remember as that question was on the driver's test i took to get my license many years ago.

everyone was courteous..can you imagine the road rage there would be today?!
