Jersey murder suspects vow
THE hulk suspected of killing his kids in the Jersey knife massacre swore he would always protect them, pals said yesterday.
Damian Rzeszowski was described as a doting dad who would recoil at TV news bulletins about horrors involving children.
Family friend Kasia Krajewska said as she battled her shock over the bloodbath that left six dead on Sunday: "He was a great father.
"If something came on the news about a child being harmed he used to say, 'I would cut off my right hand before I let anything happen to my children'."
Accused... Damian Rzeszowski with his
wife Izabela, daughter Kinga and Kacper
The Polish bodybuilder, 30, is feared to have flipped after wife Izabela said she wanted to end their eight-year marriage. Kasia said: "She'd been seeing someone else."
Raging Rzeszowski is suspected of butchering their daughter Kinga, five, and 18-month-old son Kacper before repeatedly stabbing his wife as she tried to flee.
Childminder Izabela, 30, collapsed in a pool of blood on a neighbour's doorstep.
His best friend Marta de la Haye, 34 - who was at the family's flat for a barbecue - was also knifed and slumped beside her, dying.
Wife's pal ... Marta de la Haye and daughter Julia died
Inside the apartment Marta's own daughter Julia, five, also lay dead - along with Izabela's dad Marek, 55, who had battled the knifeman.
Last night Rzeszowski remained sedated in hospital. He is thought to have repeatedly plunged a six-inch kitchen knife into his own chest after the bloodbath in St Helier.
Tragedy ... victim Marta de la Haye with hubby Craig
He is under arrest and being guarded by police who fear it could be weeks before he is well enough to be quizzed. The gym fan and his family had just returned from a holiday aimed at patching up his marriage.
Grief ... flowers at scene
Izabela confessed a month ago to having an affair. Her distraught husband took an overdose of anti-depressants and was rushed to hospital.
Izabela, who had changed her Facebook status from "married" to "single", is then said to have told her Polish lover the fling was over.
She reverted to the description "married" - and the family set off for a three-week break back in Poland.
In a bizarre twist, fellow murder victim Marta had also changed her Facebook status to "single" - after a row with her IT worker husband Craig, 37.
She was on bail accused of attacking him when she went to her friend's home. A pal said: "It cost Marta her life."
Yesterday the final bodies were removed from the murder scene - those of little Kacper and his grandad.
