Seven-a personal review:
Album: 'hours...'-(Okt.1999)
Single:-(Jul.2000)
A beautiful slow number from 'hours...'. Perhaps the most immediate
song on the album, but even so I tend to like it better and better.
A bitter-sweet song that creeps under your skin(well, mine at least).
Production delight:
The slide guitar, and I agree with N.Pegg, it could easily have
been made 2 or 3 decades ago.
Lyrics:
According to Pegg, David stated in an interview that it was not
autobiographical, so who the songs is about I don't know.
He said it's about living in the present, not too hung up in neither
the past nor the future. He feels neglected by the gods, so he chooses
to forget them too. I sense a bit of resigned mood in it, though,
doesn't sound happy.
Music:
Like a slow walk on a cloudy day, no "real" verse or chorus parts as
they sort of melt together. Smart "out of key" chord change to what I
like to consider the chorus. I actually liked this song a lot better
after having started to play it myself.

Live:
I haven't heard it, was done in '99 and '00. Live versions exists on
singles, and a fine version on Beeb. Don't seem likely he'll add
this one now, but you never know.
On a personal note:
Has become one of my favourite songs to play, although not very
known by the general public.

or you won't get far--------
