Response to i think you're right

Phil,

Looks like I’m on the right track as to the colours- I’ll poke about Landships and see what I can find. As I am in the process of doing a “load”, jerry cans oil drums and boxes for the new Airfix Jeep and GMC I have to make some molds this week, I’ve decided to make my own pattern for the flimsies and to cast them in resin. AB miniatures do them as part of a set and I’ll size them from those. When they’re done I’ll post to let you see.

Re your FT-17

When I build a model I have 3 goals these are-

Have fun.
Do the best I can, but don’t sweat it, its ONLY a model.
Have fun.

If you follow ALL of these guides then ALL of your models are good builds. The results of ALL model building is directly the result of experience i.e. skill level, time spent on the project, experience, time spent in research, experience and (particularly if your doing oob) then the quality of the kit itself will determine the resulting finished model and finally did I mention experience?

Never compare the quality of your work to others other than to say one of two things:

“That’s what I want to aspire to (this =experience)”

Or.

“ I’ve come a long way since I modeled at that level (this also =experience)”.

As you can see there’s a pattern to all of this, so, be happy with your FT-17 it reflects your experience and that’s only improved on by one model at a time and you don’t want to know how much time I’ve spent on models!

“T”
