ICM have released a set of German Stormtroopers. I havn't got the link handy but a web search will soon locate their site.
They looked good from what I can remember of them.
Heller did a set of Chasseurs Alpins, which turn up now & again on Ebay. Nice casual poses.

I bought the Stormtrooper set the other week and the mouldings, while not Dragon standard, are still very good. A seperate sprue has the helmets, gas mask tins, mess kits and so on and bayonets plus rifles. The piling hooks were incompletely moulded on two of them but this can be replaced with wire or similar.
The box top artwork is very good but the heads in the kit are not depicted as yelling and might warrant replacement.
The grenade bags as moulded might also be replaced with scratchbuilt items but this is the prerogative of the modeller.
I am not sure whether the leather cartridge pouches would have been worn as I think ammunition was carried in the pockets and in bandoliers, the latter are provided in the kit.
A diagram of how the equipment was worn is included in the instructions. I am unsure as to what the cylindrical object worn on the belt is, I am guessing that it is a lightweight gasmask case. No provision for waterbottles is made but I assume these would have been carried (they are on the equipment sprue)
A possible conversion idea is to use the Bergmann MP28 SMG that comes with Tamiya's German Soldiers Seated set, (recently re released along with the Horch), though the magazine will need conversion work to replicate the Luger type "snail" drum magazine that was a feature of the MP18.
Parts asemble well, though the usual seam lines will need removal, take care around the putties so that the detail isn't lost.
Overall, a very nice set, hopefully similar kits will be forthcoming.
It's interesting to see they have stated that their tracklinks for the Mk IV and Whippet and Tadpole are TEMPORARILY out of production. I hope this means that they could be back soon. Do it guys do it! I'll take a few of each.
