Several years ago now, my daughter also tried out for her home association and was told she wasn't good enough to make their MAA team....so she went to the Aeros instead that season. Funny though, after that her new team never once even came close to losing a game against the team and coach whose supposedly higher standards she couldn't meet.

After that, she had such a great experience with the Aeros she stayed there for 4 years and she is now playing D1 hockey.

In retrospect, he did her the biggest favour ever by cutting her. I credit the Aeros with her development. None of the players that were on the home town team she was cut that year from ever made it to D1.

We later found out that the same thing had happened to another Aeros teammate with that same coach the previous year. She too is now in D1.
