2 years ago we asked for my D's release from a very large association (my D played on their AA team) to go to a small association that had never fielded a competitive team above the B level (less than 30 skaters per level). This release was based soley on the grounds, in my opinion, to get her better coaching (and, maybe, due to a bit of cronyism in her old association...). My D's old association never even blinked when the release was asked, no questions, and I had the release in hand 1 day later. This year, her 2nd in the new association, they now have 1 AA team and 1 house team and they finished first in their AA league over all the larger encumbant AA teams (including her old association). Now, after 2 great years, my D plans to go back to her first association, as a much better player, where she will get better exposure being in a larger association. Because the release was so smooth with no hard feelings we have no problems in bringing back my D to her old association. All I can say is thanks!!! Too bad this rule was not in boys! |
