HS teams come in many flavours. Some schools have so many players that you only get to play 2 of 3 games while others will regulary play with only 10 skaters and a "volunteer" goalie. Bearing that in mind, the level of commitment will also vary. And the coaches also have a role to play as some will happily take a part-time A or AA player. I know one school that took a girl who hasn't played in two years just to fill out the bench. (Heck, my kid has never played HS hockey as her school does not have a boys or girls team.) |
