Actually it's the other way around. These players along with the 95's are looking elsewhere to play because there is no room for them with the imports. And I'm no expert but listen carefully... Whitby int AA has no spots on F or in net. It doesnt surprise me that the coach would lie to you about that. He does it every year.
They have 7 returning forwards, the Belleville player and an etobicoke forward. That's 9. That's all they are taking...

As for D... Be careful. Last year he promised his D he'd take 6 and then took 7. Going back on his word is a common practice. Get your commitment in writing from GS, his word means nothing. If a better player shows up at tryouts, your "committed spot" is gone.
