Dice, I'm getting dejavu.
I agree with all your variables. In this case both teams came down by bus, so all the players would be there at the same time anyway. If they didn't you could have had a mandatory team dinner at a set time to make sure everyone was there. I'm on board 100% with you on the variables- eating, rest between games etc - the thing is that fatigue is ALSO a variable that you should try to optimize before such a long tournament. My whole arguement is that this Variable was taken a chance on. In the end it didn't cost TB because they were the superior team going in. NB, maybe it did, maybe it didn't - but they took a chance. There is no way to say for sure - but this variable was not optimized by them. The difference between a slight mistiming, getting off balance, losing just a little coordination due to being a little more tired may be enough to miss that scoring opportunity or may be the difference between having that pass intercepted which ends up in the back of your net or not. NB outshot Missy but couldn't burry their opportunities - this fatigue variable was not optimized by them and could have been the difference - now way to prove it, but the chance of it was not optimized.
If winning was the goal - then in my eyes, they didn't optimize ALL the variables.
