I watched all of this game between Markham and Sudbury the teams both played a solid game. Sudbury had a few more chances during the game.Then, Markham had many chances to win this game in the final minutes.
The goal that was scored on Sudbury was a result on a turnover right in front of the net and Jamie Tessier had no chance on the play. Tessier made many fine saves in the closing minutes in this game to keep the score tied. This is a top quality goalie and I was very impressed.
The captain of the Markham team ( Samantha Delenardo ) was the best skater on the ice as she constanly won faceoff after faceoff and her play without the puck made an impression on this observer. Jessica Schroeder number 11 on the Sudbury team is also quite a player and will only get better. Both teams have well developed breakouts and systems that made watching this game very enjoyable. Markham had a couple of new faces in the line up as well. The refs in this game called no penalties in the game as they let the girls decide this game...I hope this trend continues.
