I e mailed Ted today to see what is up.......it seems as if a few Cheques may have got lost in the mail. He stated that he had sent them out as he said he did. He also states that he has been up at his families cottage and not available by phone etc.
New cheques will be sent by courier by Tuesday he said.
He is not at all doing that well as his fathers death was not expected. I doubt that there will be any events ran by him in the next short while.
My condolences to him and his family at this time.
The individuals who have been on this site for a long while will remember that I disappeared for a long while as I was going through a similar event in my life. It is very difficult as you are all very aware.
Please let me know if this is not cleared up.

Ted returned my phonecall tonight, left me a message that the cheque is forthcoming. I trust all is well and am very glad to see he is dealing with his business concerns.
I wish him well and send my condolences as he copes with his family crisis.

My condolences as well as this sounds to be a more difficult time and I can appreciate that.
However, it looks like we may have registered for the WESL after this unfortunate situation, but our cheque was cashed and have since been sent a roster and tentative times after requesting many times. This is supposed to start tomorrow night in Vaughan, but still no schedule. If anyone has a schedule or knows if the WESL has been canceled altogether, please let us know. If cancelled, I think it does not take much to put it on the website so everyone is aware. If cancelled altogether, we will hopefully get our refund as suggested.

Unless you have been through the loss of a close family member (spouse, child, sibling or non-elderly parent) you cannot imagine or predict the impact it has. Everyone deals with it in their own way. We should all respect that.

My daughter heard today that it now starts next Sunday at Lakeshore.. pay by the game. I is a shame as she was counting on this for a Sunday nite skate, wonder if it will ever happen.

WAY too many false starts. Pretty fishy that it was announced it was supposed to start today (after many promises week after week that it would be "next week"), and then only a last minute email on Sunday afternoon yet again that tonight's games are cancelled after all. I'd be willing to bet no games ever take place.
Does it occur to him that girls have organized their weekend schedules around this, foregoing other activities or even work, so they could participate? That they may have participated in other leagues instead had they known better?
My daughter had planned on going to her game straight from work today, and was saved a long wasted trip to the rink only because a friend thought to text her as she was leaving.
If he failed to organize it, why can't he just say so, without waiting every time until the last minute to admit it?
I was willing to give the guy some slack given an unexpected death in the family (yes, I have actually been through it myself). But we all face difficulties we must find a way to deal with and a responsibility to not expect everyone else to unnecessarily shoulder the collateral damage we cause as a result. At this point it appears this is merely being used as an excuse and a crutch--or else his coping skills are so badly affected by this that professional psychological help truly is in order.
If you are not in a mental state to take the most basic care of business, have you ever heard of delegating responsibility to someone else? I'm sure there are others who would gladly help out to pick up the pieces and actually execute a program for these players, for what's left of the summer. Just ask.

On the e mail it said to call him......so if it was me who had money invested in this .....I would call him along with a call to Lakeshore arena to see if he does have the ice booked for the weekends.
Please keep me informed of this event!

Calling ahead is ridiculous. you don't call to confirm games, the arena sure as heck won't want to receive calls. --- the promoter is supposed to provide a service and its up to the organisers to make the contacts.

The current info that I got is that this week is again off and that next week is paid for, but this was the same thing expressed last week. Lets hope that all money is refunded asap!

the same as the frozen ponds tourney...why do people not see it for what it is..
nobody will see any icetime for their money.
I have experienced this sort of thing first hand and I see the similarity.
Hockey parents will do anything and believe any story if they think their kids will get some extra opportunity or experience.
your $$$$$ is gone and you wont see any of it!!!

Must have made the same mistake I always do and that is I send things by courier du bois and it takes forever for the friggin' guy to paddle done one river, portage to the next lake, paddle up the other river and so on. Friggin' United Paddling Service.
