I Don't Understand The OWHA

Just finished watching Stoney vs. L/C and Aeros vs L/C. I don't understand why the OW is giving Stoney such a hard time over their Dec. US/Can Tournament. Those two games were the best games of the SC MAA Tournament. Why they don't want the best 5 or 6 US teams playing off against 5 or 6 of the best Ontario teams is beyond me. Clearly L/C is one of the best U16 US teams, Aeros and Stoney from my observation are, one-two in Ontario. I wish for once the OW would give their members what they want. I thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of games played in this tournament. For my money, it's the best run tournament in North America. OWHA, I know you read this web board, show you are progressive and let this tournament happen.

A friend used to say that you could not blame a person for being insane. It simply was not their fault !!

IMHO parents of Girls who reach the final year of Bantam or in Midget finally realize that Dice does know what he is talking about when it comes to OWHA.

The rookies posters all slag Dice for being tainted and cruel to OW and P and F.

Go thru a tryout for U18 or OWG, go to a disciplinary hearing, ask some legitimate hockey questions, try to initiate change in process or procedure and you will start to agree with this forum and the opinions stated.

It is a great game, try to enjoy it.

after years of hearing about the OWHA and the way they do things and actually dealing with them for many more...I can tell you that the last 2 posters are correct.

And yes, Dice does know what he is talking about. As only those with experience and seasoning always do.

Thanks......

The OWHA is not a great example of how a Governing body should act....I believe that this individuals are on their way out. To many people in high places are watching their actions.

Its not a matter of contacting anyone. Unless you have a legitimate complaint and are willing to put your legal name on an e-mail with the association it isn't going to matter.

I have not been saying this for years....what I have been saying for years is that they need to go....now I am saying they will be gone....notice the difference.

Any complaint.....please contact the OHF and Hockey Canada ....the more the better and the soon the needed action will take place.

Of course they hear you but they won't act on anything unless your willing to back it up in writing. That's just the facts. What are they going to say when they go to the OW oh so and so says your doing this and we believe him/her so were getting rid of you two.
They want written provable facts.
Then they will act on it. Until then it will stay the same.

Of course they want written statements and facts.

If you're not willing to put your complaint in writing then why make it ? It just becomes heresay if not.

PROVINCIAL PLAYDOWNS ARE A JOKE

No score for this post
March 2 2011, 2:35 PM

I TALKED TO A PARENT WHO WAS IN CORNWALL FOR A MIDGET PLAYDOWN GAME YESTERDAY. THEY SAID THERE WAS A ATOM HOUSE LEAGUE GAME ON AHEAD OF THERE PROVINCIAL GAME AND THEY PLAYED 12-15-15. THE MIDGET GAME WAS 3 -10 MINUTE PERIODS, WITH NO FLOOD AT SI MILLER. THEY SAID THEY ARE ONLY PLAYING A SINGLE ROUND ROBIN. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET 1.5 HRS OF ICE TIME. NO WONDER NOBODY GOES TO OTTAWA FOR HOCKEY, NO WONDER NOBODY LIKES THE OWHA. LLFHL MOST TEAMS ARE PLAYING DOUBLE ROUND ROBINS WITH 12-15-15. IF THERE IS ONE THING THE OW NEEDS TO DO IS CHANGE THIS 10-10-10 CRAP IT IS NOT HOCKEY. AT LEAST MAKE ALL PROVINCIAL GAMES AND SERIES THE SAME. THE MOST IMPORTANT PROVINCIAL PLAYDOWNS SHOULD BE AT LEAST 12-15-15 AND MAYBE GO WITH LESS TEAMS. NOBODY WITH 2 OR 4 WINS FOR THE SEASON GET BYES TO PROVINCIALS. THIS IS THE BIGGEST JOKE I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. WHY DO YOU THINK SOME OF THE WEAKER TEAMS PLAY SINGLE ROUND ROBINS WITH 10-10-10. Oh yah forgot she said they paid almost $900 for the bus ride for a 30 minute game, or for those accountants, $30 a minute.
