Didn't think I'd see Missy lose with a full bench. I guess anything can happen! |

It is a long season. Lots of factors at play. Odds to go undefeated the whole season are pretty slim. There have been a few undefeated seasons in the past. Aeros one time at IAA (about 5-6 years ago) and NCCP one time at MAA (about 8-9 years ago), but it is a pretty rare feat at the top tier. |

Not sure what this comment means?
From the Box Score and Games sheet it appears as if Missy had 15 skaters 9 f and 6 D. There was 1(pu) but all their top scores and their Team Canada and Team USA U18 players appeared to have signed in.
Other teams have played with a lot more missing players all year and never once complained that they were short players.
Congratulations should go out to Ottawa for a big win. |

Comment probably a response to the poster that indicated a loss with a full bench. Either way, does not really matter that much in the grander scheme of things. Sure, a great win for Ottawa, and they should be commended on it, but in the end it is Missy still a clear number one seed. |

Does not matter if your a number one seed, there will be some upset come playoff time, good coaching will prevail. |

But since they (Miss.) are still only #2 on myhockeyrankings then they still need to try harder. |

"yourhockeyrankings" don't reflect the PW view, or that of most others. |

Different method, different results.
It isn't logical to call it a joke just because you don't see the results you want to see. |

The leafs would be in first place. |

Exactly when this year did the #2 ranked team beat the #1 ranked team. I must have missed that game. |

Unlike you in the absence of head to head data I think the myhockey ranking is a reasonable way to rate the teams.
If you look at #1 and #2 they are 0.07 apart and based upon this past weekends games even with #2 losing a game I believe they will flip flop and when the stats are next updated all your dreams will come true and the current #2 will be shown as the #1.
Point is #1 and # 2 are ahead of everyone else (Last year I would have said #1 and #2 are way ahead of everyone else but the feeling I have is the pack is closer this year) and what you really have is a 1 and 1A.
When two teams are so close you look at head to head and in that case the Current #1 beat the Current #2 in a shootout at the start of the season the only time they faced each other this year.
They play each other twice in the next two weeks and at that time there will be more data to back up bragging rights.
The true test will be in April when Champions are crowned and opions no longer matter.
It truly does not matter for bragging rights because I would have to rank NAHA over either of them since NAHA managed to beat them both at the last Can-Am in Kitchener.
Anything else I missed? | |
