May is the quiet period. Don't expect a lot of updates until later in June.
The 2011-2012 recruit class is pretty much done anyways.
Things get really going again in July for the 2012-2013 class. |

Some big recruiting classes this year in D 3, especially out west. Concordia (Wi.) and even perenial powerhouse Gustavus Adolphus. In the east, Elmira looks to be rebuilding also with 8 new recruits so far and Chatham has a big class. Comments! |

seems to be a lot of canadians going to div-3. Also some very strong PWHL players are going to div-3 instead of div-1 (look at RIT recruits). |

Any recruits for Ryerson's first year in OUA/CIS?
Not all recruits listed in the CIS LOI registry are reflected in BTD. |

My understanding is that the web site is dependent on the player herself adding her name |

My daughter's name was added to the site without any contact from us. |

Norwich has a big class last year nad Guess where they landed at year end.
Not uncommon to see big classes in D3 schools. Sometimes happens in D1 schools as well. Last year Quinnipiac had 12 recruits and they ended up having a good season, one of them winning MVP of the league.
I suspect the strong canuck dollar makes the D3 offers financially more attractive. Big difference between paying a 20% premium of getting par or better. |

Names could have been added by coaching staff or more likely other "friends" submitting the info. |

If you see single entries, put your money on friends or family, if you see a mass entry by one school, put your money on the coach. |

Most schools will submit the information because it helps them to sign other recruits. If there are 3 forward spots open and they show that 2 have been committed then there is a little more pressure to commit to the last spot. |

The only information a school would submit is an official announcement on their website. They cannot be seen submitting info without things like an NLI in place.
The info posted on BTD/USCHO comes from parents of players, word of mouth from scouts to insiders and stuff like that who you learn that from during rink talk. Personally learn of many recruits well before (sometimes months before) they show up on USCHO or BTD. |

My name ended up on the recruiting list before I had told any of my team mates, or my friends. My parents are not computer savvy and I never submitted my own name to the site so I can only assume my name was put there by the coach. |

That is most unfortunate, and you would not be the first that would have been posted on one of theses listing by someone prematurely spilling the beans. The unfortunate side effect of these blog type listings is that some "rumours" become facts. Seen cases were someone was posted and then later removed or listed with another school when the "fact" turned out to be false. I'm willing to bet it was not the coach that did the posting. | |
