Put re-cat forms against Sault St Marie,

they just lost in the semis of a Midget AA tournament.

Last year Sarnia ran the table and beat teams in Finals when they should never been there in the first place.

This type of crap has to stop,

Maybe every team registered for the Aurora Silver Stick should pull out and find a tournament and play against Bantam A teams.

Thanks happy.gif my rant is done

beat there own MAA team

Although I don't think this is the right forum to post this request, they did beat their own MAA team in that tournament 3-1 before losing to them 3-1 in the semis.

Even so, I would think only teams that have played them and feel they have valid reasons to ask for them to be moved up should be doing that. Looking at scores is not, IMO, a valid reason. Maybe their MAA had only 8 skaters and no goalie? Without being there, you don't know.

The Soo team does have to live with themselves...

Your a few days late. Re-cats need to be in by Nov 14.
It might not make a difference for Aurora tourney as teams have a 30 day grace period from the time OWHA contacts with re-cat to stay in tourneys they already entered. Aurora was bumped to bantam AA last year and still got to play at A. You can guess who won the tourney.
If OWHA re-cat forms need to be in by Nov 14, why does it take so long to re-cat teams. Surely the OWHA already has an idea of the teams that need to be looked at.
I agree with the SSM Tenaris Wildcats bantam A team assesement, if they are not re-catted they will win every tourney including provincials.
Wake up OWHA. Your own rules allow you to re-cat any team at any time, surely a team that is bantam A would be bumped up if they lose in semi final of a Midget AA tourney.
From OWHA handbook.

(N) The OWHA Categorizing Committee has the authority
to move any team at any time notwithstanding that a
team may not have been petitioned for recategorization.
In particular, the OWHA
Categorization Committee reserves the right to
evaluate and re-categorize teams that are ranked
above teams successfully petitioned for recategorization.

The MAA level is so ....

watered down, a good BA team is competitive. SSM players do not have a PWHL option so they play in their respective levels. The MAA teams from the "South" are ultra thin because all their talent is in the PWHL. All the talent is in the PWHL because there are way too many PWHL teams. Restrict the number of entries in the AA,A and BB divisions at EVERY level. Sure, you'll still have those incredible birth year teams on occasion, but overall the on ice product will be improved and parity is achieved automatically.

So to attack SSM because they have a solid club, is wrong. And what MAA teams were entered? Perhaps the field was nothing more than groups of true MA or MBB calibre players.

So stop making excuses for losing before the event even starts. Get to work instead.

There are some great teams ready to play this so called strong team from SSM. Barrie, Vaughan, Oakville, Stoney Creek, Whitby, Chatham and Etobicoke all have started off very strong this year. There is only one difference..........THERE ALL DOUBLE AA TEAMS..which is where SSM belongs, period.

SSM goes unbeaten!!

Is the London team #636 (10-0-2)in this tourney? It will be interesting to see how Sault SM does against them. There has been lots of talk about getting to work instead of whinning about this SSM team. After this tourney we will know for sure what level they should be at. I predict unbeaten with 16 GF and 2 against. Any other predictions?

Just figured it out ........

I just spent the last week in the GTA area. Drivers down there must , I repeat, MUST be in possesion of an ISA card to get on the road. ISA mean "I'm a Stunned Idiot". Travelling to North Bay would be a divine pleasure after having to drive that death zone everyday.

So I figure, those from around the GTA are just plain ol' bitter and twisted. Trying to get anywhere while staying inside the rules is impossible. Good luck with all that.

So you say that people are just bitter and that is why they think that a team that can compete agianst MAA teams(like some good BAA teams can) should not be playing against BA teams.....it's just because us city folk are bitter???

Wow! How many time did you fall off your tractor????

If JAD was to have falling off anything it would have been more likely a Tank and not a tractor.

I also agree with him about getting to work to beat them. If they deserve to be moved up they will as it is within the OWHA right to do so. No complaint or rat recat needed to be filed.

Well, yes London was in Whitby and they met in the finals....London did manage 2 goals against Sault Ste. Marie - but lost 5-2. the final tally was 22 goals for and 2 against for Sault Ste. Marie...

Pretty good prediction!

5-2 is flattering to London. It was 4-0 before SSM took their foot off the gas pedal. Up until that point, undefeated SSM had outscored the opposition 21-0...I wonder how they will do at "A" Provincials? lol
