The 200, that is.

It was still boring and uneventful.

Howard should hang his head in shame, the race sucked from start to finish. There was little passing and a lot of big name drivers MIA.And from where I was there looked to be room in the stands? Not many big names not a big turnout for a 200 lap race. The only thing that there was to much of was wasted time. Howard do the fans a favor and cut back to a 100 lap race.

I don't think the answer lies in shortening the race. I think raising the purse and and changing the way starting positions are calculated would make the race far more intersting.

If there was good money to be won in the heat races ... say $1000 ... guys would try their damndest to win. Then, the starting grid for the 200 could be reversed from the finishing order in the heat races. That way, the fastest would have to come all the way from the rear.

Then to make it more intersting, they could add a second mandatory pit stop, or even a third, which would reduce the number of cars that get lapped, and (obviously) increase the number of cars that are on the lead lap at the end.

More than anything, the cars need to be evened up. Why not simply setup a dynamometer and set rigid requirements with low tolerances? Then, they could do anything they wanted with the motors and gearing ... as long as the end result fell within the regulations.

For that matter ... why not do it that way all year?

What do you get out of calling names?

I don't agree with 1/2 the things Tom says, but I've yet to find any reason to call him names.

He has his opinions. You have yours. Sometimes, you'll be right. Sometimes, you'll be wrong. Sometimes, he'll be right. Sometimes, he'll be wrong.

This is about racing, which is supposed to be fun. If you were two friends, and the name-calling was in jest, it would be understandable.

Take this to the bank ... your opinion is taken more seriously when it is presented in a factual manner and is not aimed at insulting anyone.
