Response to Re: Serious trouble at West Ham Millwall
The court heard that disabled supporters in the front row were hit with coins and other missiles as around 200 Leeds United followers vented their anger on away fans on the day the club was relegated to the third tier of English football.
One teenage fan, who has cerebral palsy and was in a wheelchair at the pitchside last April, had to be comforted by her parents as gesticulating hooligans got within a few feet of her and other disabled fans.
A small number of police officers used their batons to keep the Leeds fans at bay during seven minutes of mayhem.
Mr Ager added: I'm glad with the sentences but I think some of them should have got football bans for life because they will only come back in a few years' time and maybe do the same thing.
