I hear what you are saying. I don't necessarily mean fraudulently, he may have had genuine interest in the club and allowed for things to progress knowing full well he isn't going to get the money he would realistically accept or even want to sell BUT the benefits of the process would generate some positive interest from the fan base who were/are getting more pissed off him, with the way transfers are going on, selling/releasing players etc etc. We all know the ST sales were down and attendences have been dwindling - I also appreciate it's one big conspiracy theory I know, but something smells like a sweaty ass here and after all this time and the season not far away, seems more and more likely it was a carrot/stick/donkey situation.

But who knows, just hope it does go through either way and Bates & Co bog off. Sooner rather than later!
