I think you can sign the player with all the paperwork effectively going through on 1st July.

Just to put transfers into perspective with the Bates thing...we've maybe or maybe not signed Feeney for jack all, Huddersfield are bidding £1m for Lambert at Bristol Rovers...we should at least be in for him at around that price if we've got the ambition...think we all know the answer to that though.

Some of you have very short memories. We bought him from non-league side and he has bagged a load of goals for us. Yes he did bottle it in the play off's and i dont think he is good enough for top flight but overall he has done well for Leeds.

It also looks like we might make a few quid on him so all in all he has been good for us.

I's common sense that you get your players in sooner rather than later so they have a chance to "gel" as such, so things aint looking too good... Thats been one of our problems over the past 3-4 seasons, getting players in at stupid times during the season and expecting them to make an immediate impact! I honestly thought this season might be different with Grayson in charge as he "seemed" to have an idea of who he wanted ages ago, but nothing seems to have happened in the last month or so... Shows again who pulls the strings i guess.

And for those that moan on about Beckford, he scored some handy goals and he is only the same as 99% ofplayers out there who are more interested in progressing and the ££££ rather than loyalty. Sign of the times im afraid.
