If we hang fire we'll get zidane from Madrid, would Silva be any better than Christiansen? I think he's only done hull and Watford, we need someone who knows the league and the players needed to get us out of it,not some clueless unknown Johnny foreigner and a equally clueless dof.
Could be interesting if staveley pops a bid in.

I think Staveley is backed by Qatari money. It would be interesting to know what ARs plans are to make a quick buck or build to make a bigger profit down the line. I reckon we are an attractive proposition now, certainly in comparison to how we have been in the past.
Radrizzani is wealthy in his own right but not to that extent.
It’s all guesswork as I don’t think we’d be lucky enough to find a rich sugar daddy or mother in this case.

Agreed I think we're in a much healthier position now and relatively stable, will certainly be interesting to see which way AR goes.
One thing is certain though, folk won't continue to be mugged out of their hard earned brass to have a substandard product rammed down their throats,a big drop in crowds should be a wake up call.

Coming from me, I think the fight back and the atmosphere will mask some of yesterday’s shortcomings. The lack of discipline is unbelievable. That could be TCs undoing the 2 new signings didn’t look too bad.

His reputation is good. He took a club like Leyton Orient to the champions league in Portugal, and loads of premier league teams sent cosches over to learn from him. And until losing the first home game at Hull he'd gone something like 50 home games unbeaten with 3 different clubs. So he has a decent pedigree and he nearly saved Hull when they looked shipwrecked.

I think we could be pissing in the wind to be honest. I think AR is here to stay and probably TC as well.
TC has had time so he needs to deliver now.

I'd take him now! But we wouldn't get him because the going rate would be too high.

Manager

January 24 2018, 11:40 AM

Cant say Christianson has covered himself in glory so far, however sacking yet another manager could just set us back another 12 months as Monk leaving did

I would give him more time, we have consistently sacked a manager on average probably every 6 months over the last 4 years and where has that got us?

Also look at Bristol City, last season they were looking like relegation certainties, manager was odds on for the sack, yet Lee Johnson kept them up, added a few players to the squad and look at them now, also Wolves had an indifferent start to the season even with all the money they have spent

Even scum have had a period of rebuilding even with the cash they have, its not all about paying big money for players, doesn't matter who they are they need time to gel, get used to other team mates, get used to formations etc. so bringing in 10 new players wont bring instant success, that said, some of our lot are simply not good enough

Its some of the players that want sacking and the manager hasn't signed any of them

For me Cooper, Philips and Cacko are not good enough, as well as the keepers, why we let Green go ill never know, even Silvestri is better than that German

Jury out with Lassoga, remember slagging Wood off in his first season then look what happened....

Re: Manager

It’s hard to judge any manager when we don’t actually know what input he has in identifying weak areas in the team and strengthening them. TC has done a couple of worrying things, most notably playing Phillips up front as a number 10 in one game. There is no excuse for that, it showed either real naivety on his behalf, or simply an astounding lack of judgement. Other problems, including a so called lack of discipline, may be harsh on the fella. I’ve seen Cooper’s latest sending off, and would have to say Bridcutt’s challenge on Ayling was worse and had more intent. We all want the sort of commitment Cooper shows, but when you are over committed nowadays, it’s a red card unfortunately. Cooper has a body that is playing in 2018, but a brain that is playing in the 1980’s, it’s hard for a manager to temper that. What worries me about the current team is something that has worried me since we were relegated in 2004, an inability from every single manager to set a team up that plays with width and pace. The nearest we have been to returning to the top flight was under the much maligned Kevin Blackwell, who took us to within one game of glory by playing his centre forwards (Robbie Blake and David Healy) as wide men. No other manager has come close, and no other manager has ever found the right wide players and adopted the right formation to really trouble opponents, if TC is to continue with such a laboured build up, with such slow players, he may as well fuck off now. If he can see that pace and strength are pre-requisites for any successful team, he has to act now, and insist on the right sort of players to implement his plan. After that, it’s out of his hands.

Re: Manager

Good point about Wood, he certainly improved under Monk and his coaching staff, before that he was very poor. I wonder what sort of coaching staff we currently have in place, their main remit should be to improve players or the team unit and team shape etc. I'm not seeing any of this. We hire a free kick specialist coach (I believe) what the fuck is that all about! A defence coach or some who can work on the defence, yes!

We appear to do everything on cheap and with no thought, just like the new badge. We have sacked too many managers too quickly over the years, there and again some of Cellino's appointments were on a hiding to nothing. Bristol's was a perfect example where patience persevered. But the difference is that they had just gained promotion and the expectancy levels were about surviving the first season. In our case where should have built last season's improvement. We haven't and have gone backwards. TC just doesn't cut it for me, it's not all his fault, some things are out of his hands, which are AR territory i.e. decision making at board level.

Discipline within the team is surely down to TC and it is shocking. Also there is no visible sign that any of the players have improve as the season has gone on, which suggests he hasn't impose any of his methods or way of playing. He comes across as weak.
