The team website released the "clear day rosted", stating AHL bi laws limit teams to 20 skaters and two goal tenders and named the players, some still in Boston. I understand players can be changed for injury and such and come back from Boston. But it seems to me the numbers should be the same on the clearday roster as the playoff roster. We have 25 players listed on our palyoff roster. My question is How many players will take the ice on Wed night? (dont tell me six, haha)
This is one of the reason that I don't get overly concerned (other then the fact that if Boston goes out on Thursday we may get some of the players on the list coming back to Providence) about "Clear Day" rosters. The actual Playoff Rosters are always different (because of injuries and/or players being with the affiliate team, etc.) And there seems to even be a greater number. There seems (unless there are more now) to be a right number of skaters, but I'm (as I posted yesterday) perplexed at why we have four goaltenders. There can be three if one is injured. Also, the roster may state more players because some are there to take place if a player gets injured. I figure it's also like that for our extra (eighth) defenseman. But, they'll only play if there is in injured defenseman. But, all are healthy right now.
Ref goal tenders I would rather see Regan start over Tukka for the first game. How nuts is that? My first choice would be Jordan but seems like were are getting a runarround on him. One thing for sure in about 24hrs we will know!
I'm not sure what is happening with Jordan, but right now it seems pretty evident that Scott's being told NOT to use him because he "doesn't go with Boston's plans" * This is my and other person's feelings/take on the issue and not positive -- take it for what it's worth! or something in that area. And, I'll tell you, it's ticking me and many fans off. Jordan should actually be the starting goalie for the playoffs. I love Tuukka, but it's his first year, and I personally don't feel he's playoff ready. However, Tuukka probably will play. I hope that he's gotten all the uneasiness out. And no you're not crazy wishing that Kevin Regan would play. Heck, he played his first game and it was against Manchester and he had a shutout! I'm down with that one, too.
Not nuts Bob as Lori said, I was at the Manchester game Regan played in, they crashed that net and he didn't flinch I was very impressed by his maturity, and I don't know if Rask is hurt or just rusty, but I am a little nervous about him in net, but we shall see what happens tonight.
Well, at the new ProJo article says, Tuukka will be the main goaltender. I guess we all need to have faith in him and believe! And I do believe that he can be the hot goalie he's been!
At the ProJo article about the season and the playoffs, it mentions the teams record and then Tuukka's record this season. Most of the teams losses were with Tuukka in net. So he's not that hot of a goalie. But like you said, Lori, I guess we need to pull out our faith in him. And Bob you aren't nuts. I think many us of would rather see Regan in net.
Your joking right? I like Jordan as a person and player but he is the back up for a reason and its not political.Unless Rask really implodes get use to him sitting.
No, I'm not joking about thinking that Jordan is a good goaltender. Is it so hard to believe that? I find it a bit rude for you to say what you did.
Point is, it doesn't matter right now. Tuukka started tonight, and as the night went on he got stronger and stronger and more confident. With the P-Bruins picking up the win, it will get Tuukka back on the very confident path even more.
I see by the reply coming that this thread is turning into a "HF" type of thread/board and it's the Providence Bruins board and if you'd like to continue arguing, please go to HF. This thread is closed.
