I was truly hoping that the first playoff game wouldn't go to OT, but no such luck. Fortunately, Pascal found the net in OT! What a wild playoff game. Seems like the Bruins offense wasn't really with it until the second period, but our defense was excellent all the way through.

It was also really good to see Tuukka's confidence growing and growing, and the win will really help.

Not sure how my nerves will be!!

I'm with ya, I have to keep reminding myself Tuukka is young and this was hist first playoff game, at the end of the game he seemed to respond more to the crowd, it must have been a relief to get that win.

Big Confidence Booster

April 17 2008, 10:25 AM

You could see that with each period that Tuukka was feeling better, and that win had to be a huge confidence booster. I know those around me (including me were always cheering him on.

I was also very impressed at how well our defense played last night!

Really Hope

That the win helps his confidence and we don't need to go into overtime tomorrow.

Woo-Hoo!! Game one won!! I loved Pascal's little celebration dance/move when he scored. And the excitement the team had afterwards. It was great!!

Can we comment on the mohawks and highlights?!?!? I liked Nate's mohawk, it was cute. But I think Wacey's was a little overboard but I guess it is all in the playoff spirit. And it is better than Kanko's purple one last year. (AAgghhh, how I hate Kanko!!! I know you don't like fighting for fighting, Lori, but I just wish someone would knock him out good so we don't have to worry about him the rest of the series. He's always trying to get at our players.) And Hunwick and Hendericks had the blonde highlights, they weren't bad. I wish more of the players had got into the playoff spirit with the highlights and mohawks.

Defense

Really did a great job last night.

And don't get me wrong, even with the lack of faith I have in Tuukka right now, I still cheer for him.

The Hair!

April 17 2008, 10:41 AM

LOL, I loved Wacey's hair! Maybe because it was so, so wild! Nate's was cute, too. I loved the hair on some of them!! I'm glad that you brought it up!! And the two Matt's with the blond highlights! And it's not fair because Sean Curry started that beard a long time ago. LOLOL!

I'm not sure if you were going them, but do you remember our playoff games about four years ago when Jay Henderson was with us? He and HALF the team came out in wild mowhawks or wild hair! I'll look to see if I have a photo and then send you one if you didn't see it.

Oh, and I'm ALL for fighting when it's some jerk, so I do hope someone takes out Kanko tomorrow night! I'd like to see a couple other monarchs out!

And as far as goalie confidence; nothing helps it more then a win. If you may know by now, I'm a goaltender fan, and I got to know one really went back seven and eight years ago and even got to learn the crazy things that go on in their heads, and I think it made me love the position more. It also made me appreciate the position more and how little things can affect it. I really did watch Tuukka last night (not that others didn't ) and I could truly see him getting more confident. And the win was/is the best medicine for him. The other best thing for him is to feel and know the support from the fans. I know I shared mine as much as I could.
