What is it? We lose (as expected in the playoffs) a playoff game and everyone fades away?! I was looking forward to those who went to Portland giving us an update on Friday's game. I hope that those that go today will give us, who can't make it to Portland, some updates.

I know that you all can't have gone into hiding.

Good luck to our P-Bruins this afternoon!!

Hello from Waco

May 4 2008, 12:21 PM

Friday was a tough loss after such a great comeback in the 3rd period. It seems to me that our problem was geting the puck out of our end and Portland knew that was the key to beating us. Like you talked about on the 5 on 3 it was the same during most of the game. It did look like the guys played hard Portland wanted it more. Whats your take on it.

Thoughts

May 4 2008, 3:52 PM

How interesting to post on Friday's game as I sit ready to listen to today's.

I agree that on Friday the Bruins seemed to have a lot more trouble, in whole, getting the puck out of their zone. I also think that Portland was very hungry for the win since they weren't going to just roll over and play dead. I knew that they had to have some talent (but it didn't seem that they had a lot in Providence) because they did take out Hartford.

I'm hoping our guys too notice of that and are the MUCH hungrier team today. I also hope that they spend most of the time in Portland's zone.

I agree that it was a heart breaker to tie it up and then go ahead and then just have Portland tie it again with 57 seconds left. Sadly, it wasn't our turn to score in OT

Sorry

May 5 2008, 9:51 AM

I was busy traveling to and from Portland this weekend and I haven't been feeling well. I haven't vanished and neither has my faith in the team. I will be in Portland again for Game 5. Portland isn't a great team. We can beat them. I am not sure what is going on. We blew them out of the water games 1 and 2. And 3 and 4 were lost in ot. So it's not like they are coming back to blow us out of the water.

Friday I think Portland came out wanting it more. Our guys didn't play as well as they have been.

Yesterday, our guys came out looking like they wanted the win but it wasn't there. Tuukka needs to learn to stay in the net, as you have already stated Lori. lol. There were alot of close calls and a lot of Providence fans yelling at him too to get in the net. I was impressed with how some of our guys were playing. The two defensemen, and I won't mention who, that I normal complain about that I don't think they do much and are "useless", stepped up yesterday and did things.

I think Tuukka is getting worn and isn't ready to handle the full load and Jordan or Kevin needs to play tomorrow. And I think a small shake up in the lineup is necessary too. Wacey was productive in the beginning of the playoffs, let him play a game. Byron Bitz made a lot of mistakes on Friday night, sit him for a game or two. I like having Mac's presence but the coach hasn't been playing him more than a few shifts so put someone else in instead so there is more of a rotation.

I hope the whole team steps up tomorrow and gets the win.

Thanks

May 5 2008, 12:53 PM

Thanks so much for the updates on the games.

I agree with a lot of the assessments that you made. I'm wondering why Scott doesn't put Wacey in the lineup as well. I love Mac, but he really doesn't play. So, let Wacey have a shot. He did a good job in the first round, and they need some new blood in the lineup. I also don't know why Tuukka is wandering so much, but I'd love to see them mix it up and put Jordan in net tomorrow night. For one, it would throw off Portland who don't really know how well that Jordan can play.

I knew that Portland would come out strong on Friday, but we were so close to winning in regulation. UGH!!

I truly do believe Providence is the better team, and I also truly believe that Portland depends on Aubin. So, if Providence just keeps storming him -- and scoring -- well, Portland will fall apart again!

Aubin

May 5 2008, 2:35 PM

He was out the first 2 games for a lower body injury that he got in a game against Hartford. And I think it's still bothering him. You could see it in a few times when he moved too fast, it looked like he was in pain and didn't want to get up. As awful as this may sound, but if our team keeps making him move fast and low to stop the puck, I think he'll be out again. And you are right, I think Portland is relaying on him. But I also think Providence can beat him if they try just a bit harder.

Aubin Possibly Injured Again

May 5 2008, 5:30 PM

I thought he had to have been injured for them to not have begun the series with him.

They may be without him again! Yesterday he made a save and they said something about his not moving fast. So, to help us out, it would be nice if he's on the shelf! Even if not, I still believe the P-Bruins can beat him and Portland.

I fear that too many in Providence did not take Nate and Pascal's attitude of assuming nothing. Now it's like scratching it all and best of three. That is how they have to look at it.

bad bounces not going our way

May 5 2008, 6:11 PM

For the first time this year I decided to watch Fridays game on B2,good service,I thought we played well and were going to win when Karsums scored with 2 minutes left, but a couple of bad bounces and Portland tied it in last minute,I think Aubin can be beat, missed Sundays game though, was actually at dunk watching the circus. We must come out with sense of urgency Tuesday night and pepper Aubin from all over, absolutely dont want to go down 3-2,even though I think we still can take them at home, got tickets for Fridays game cant wait hopefully we will be up 3-2 and can close it out, would not mind to see Jordan get a start also

Glad You Brought that Up

May 5 2008, 7:01 PM

I'm glad you brought up the bounces. We seemed to have them on our side for our first six playoff games, and then all of a sudden we had them going against us for the first two games in Portland and they were getting all the breaks. I couldn't believe it that Portland tied it on Friday. I was totally believing that after Marty Karsums' goal that we had it.

I may splurge tomorrow and get my first game on B2.

B2 net

May 6 2008, 10:38 AM

Go for the B2 Portland is one of the beter locations for coverage the only fault is they spend too much time showing the fans and the chuck a puck stand. This year the all star game and skills were also free and the quality was as good as regular tv but sadly the regular games are not. I stay with B2 because with the season pass games are only two dollars. They have a long way to go in their quality. If you do buy the game let me know how your picture quality was.

I Think I Will

May 6 2008, 1:44 PM

Thanks for the info. And just the thought of not hearing the stupid Portland fans dissing Tuukka makes me really change my mind. I definitely think I'll do it. I have DSL, so I know the picture is good -- it was when I did the game last year.

I'll let you know for sure. And I DO want to see our team!

Sunday's game, B2 Network

May 5 2008, 9:00 PM

So what sort of views does the B2 Network give you?

I was at the game yesterday in Portland and those two goals were just sudden two on ones that sort of developed out of nowhere. Tuukka really couldn't do anything about it I don't think and he hadn't wandered on those plays much at all.

So how do we fill up The Dunk on Friday night? We need to really get a home ice advantage because after going to Portland I think the Providence fans do have a lot more potential to get behind their team and make some real noise.

Thanks for more input. I so hate not getting to the away games. I'm glad that Tuukka wasn't out of net. Sounds like it was two on ones and a lapse of two of defensemen. AND I noticed we got some bad bounces. Let's hope that's over!

I, personally, have only used the B2 Network once (last season - 2006 - 2007) when it was free for the AHL Skills competition because it wasn't televised. The picture is very clear, but sadly, it's even a bit smaller then this box is when you reply. It's not bad when you know the team, so I may do it.

I also hope that we can fill the Dunk on Friday. Even with the crowds we've had, we've been very loud, so our guys will know that we are there!
