P-BRUINS RELEASE NEW FLEX TIX PACKS
Flex Tix Come in 6 Packs, 12 Packs and 44 Packs
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, the 2007-08 regular season points champions of the American Hockey League, announced today three new Flex Tix packs for the 2008-09 campaign. Flex Tix are on sale now and are available in 6 Packs, 12 Packs and 44 Packs.
Flex Tix are open-ended vouchers that can be redeemed for any available seat to any Providence Bruins regular season home game. Seating is based upon availability at the time of redemption and there is no limit to the number of Flex Tix that can be used per game.
"The Providence Bruins are very excited to introduce these new Flex Tix packs," said Chief Operating Officer Jeff Hagan. "Each of the new packs will provide fans a savings of at least 50 percent off of box office prices and all three packages also include tickets for opening night."
Flex Tix can be redeemed in advance through the Providence Bruins Ticket Office or in person at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Box Office. Flex Tix are great for giveaways, promotions, employee incentives and client entertainment.
Providence Bruins season tickets and Flex Tix packages are on sale now for the 2008-09 season. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the P-Bruins ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or log on to the team website at providencebruins.com.
Seems like the prices have gone down a little. I am a relatively new P-Bruins fan that got into things in 2005-2006 but its my impression that despite Providence having a better team than ever their attendance has kind of declined over the last couple years. This flex ticket deal is what I am going to go for, especially after the great hockey I got to see this year.
What do you guys know about the Dunk renovation? I heard the place will be even nicer next year with better seats, etc. I went up to Portland for game 4 and the sightlines and general feel of the Dunk is a lot better so we are lucky.
I still have pain and I don't know if it will ever go away so I was looking at the 10-Pack of flex-tix and this new 12-pack is less money! I'm impressed. I'll be getting some of the free flex tix from a friend as well. My big thing is not knowing which days I'll be really hurting.

How do we fill the stands for next year.

They kind of offered a solution to that by reducing the prices a little. I was very surprised to see that. It may help a little.
As for the Dunk, the improvements were awesome. It looks like the front lobby is progressing. Now they just have to get the other door going so people dont have to walk to the current one when they park near the Hilton.
The new seat will be replaced this summer and like them. I tried some of the new ones a few weeks ago and had a favorable opinion.
Attendance for all the teams was down again this year slightly. Some down drastically. People just don't have the disposable income as much anymore. I'm afraid that I see this trend continuing in the near future.
They definitely reduced some prices -- and didn't increase prices for season or half-season ticket holders (new ones). I am still under my older half-season ticket cost (if I choose that), but if I look online, it's what they are even charging new half-season ticket holders (so maybe mine will be less?)
I think the price of tickets definitely kept some fans away. The Playoff tix were insane! I went with the playoff package, so that was fine, but at face value, the good seats were selling at $23.00!! I know that in the general picture of things that, that isn't really expensive. But, it's hard when you have a sport that, sadly, everyone isn't as crazy about as we are.
And, if you look at how many of are guys should be back (and many will be back in Providence, even) we're going to have another awesome year! (See Free Agents thread)
I will definetly be getting the 12 game pack it is a good deal, the reason I think attendance is waning a bit is more the peripheral stuff.I think the lack of coverage in papers like the Projo hurt the team.I definetly think having a truly minor leahue broadcasting outlet(am1450) does not help, even though the broadcasters are good, people dont always have time to listen to the games via internet.when the games used to be on 630 pro or even 550,the signals were better, and the old adage out of sight out of mind could hurt attendance at least in my opinion
I have to admit that these past several years of having the games on a radio station (or stations) that only a handful of people can get has not been helpful. I don't particularly like having to listen online. And, often the in-studio stuff is really low and we can't hear the interviews.
I respect your opinion on it. I'm, personally not sure if that's why there aren't as many fans in the arena. But, it surely is one thing that doesn't help.
Lack of coverage and/or so little coverage in the Providence Journal definitely hasn't helped.
I wrote a letter to the Projo twice this year about the coverage of the team. I received no response and I have a weekly subscription. The coverage has been awful, Is there a issue between the team and the journal we don't know about? It seems that way. I would agree that the radio signal the last few years has hurt. At night 1450am power actually goes down so the signal is worse. I've heard that a more powerful station maybe coming forward next year to cover the games. That hopefully will help.
No, I don't believe there's any problem with the team and the Providence Journal. They (Journal) just put hockey way down in the interest area and barely cover it. Hey, with the ton of football and baseball fans and both teams winning championships, heck, that's mostly all they care about. Even Boston barely gets coverage. It's sad.
As for radio, it would really be nice it they can get a stronger station next year. I never thought I'd miss DISNEY radio..!
