Concern over single game ticket prices

Even though I am getting a couple sets of flex tickets and am going to save quite a bit in comparison to the single game tickets and feel like I am getting a decent deal, I am concerned that if the single game tickets are 20 and 26 dollars that attendance will suffer from this and that there won't be enough day of game walkup sales. The reason I care is because I like going to the games when The Dunk is more crowded. I am guessing part of this is because of the costly renovation which I am looking forward to. I would pay a little more for my flex tickets if the price of the walkups was a bit less if it meant a better sized crowd. Seems like a huge disparity between buying the flex or season tickets versus single games. Are they trying to get people to go for the package deals? Portland had a 10 dollar ticket when I was up there for the playoffs, granted the Cumberland County Civic Center is no Dunk.

It's been shown too that in times of economic downturns the minor leagues and the 15-20 dollar tickets they sell suffer more than the largely corporate crowd that funds NHL, MLB etc. The most expensive tickets in sports always get bought and gobbled up no matter how crappy the economy is because "the haves" always "have", it's the places like The Dunk that lose fans if the prices go up a few more dollars.

Prices

I know that $20 and $26 seem like very expensive prices, but compared to the prices of everything else, it's simply rising with the rest.

The hardest part to fill seats is just going to be the fact that gas is costing and arm and a leg and food costs more, and people can't get out as much.

I think that it's great that they have the offers for the flex tickets for those who don't want to be locked into (or can't come a lot) season tickets or half season tickets.

As far as the most expensive tickets in the NHL and other sports still selling, it is like that even in the best of times. The P-Bruins attendance really hasn't changed that much in the past several years or more. Actually, season ticket sales have been going down a bit. I think that stabilized.
