· Led the Colts to a first round playoff upset of the Brampton Battalion before losing to the eventual Eastern Conference champions, Belleville, in the second round.
· His .941 save-percentage in eight playoff games in 2008 was second among OHL goaltenders – he averaged 44 saves per-game through the five-game series against Brampton.
· Patterns his game after Vancouver's Roberto Luongo – "he has good technique and is consistent which is what I want to work towards".
· His nickname is "Hutch" and has worn number one since his first year as a goaltender.
· He got his start in hockey at the age of six and played five years of AAA minor hockey in Barrie before finishing his minor hockey career with the Markham Majors in minor midget.
· Credits his parents for having had the most influence on his career – "they always made sure I made it to every practice and game on time when I was little. They have always been there whenever I had a problem and continue to do so".
· His most memorable hockey moment was beating Brampton in the first round of the 2008 playoffs.
