ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Providence Bruins fell to the Chicago Wolves, 6-0, last night at the Allstate Arena.

The P-Bruins are back in action tomorrow at the Toyota Center versus the Houston Aeros at 8:35 p.m.

The Wolves took the 1-0 advantage shorthanded at the 1:09 mark of the opening period. Joey Crabb stole the puck behind the P-Bruins net and sent it to Colin Stuart in the crease as he scored his second goal of the season. Chicago went ahead 2-0 at the 13:22 mark. Matt Anderson won a face off in the P-Bruins zone and sent the puck to the left point for Boris Valabik. He took a shot and the puck went off Junior Lessard’s stick and into the net for his third goal of the season.

The Wolves went into the first intermission with a 3-0 advantage after tallying a 4-on-4 goal at the 16:03 mark. Valabik worked the puck through the neutral zone up ahead for Joe Motzko, who took a shot from the left face-off circle and netted his fourth goal of the season.

After a scoreless second period, the Wolves got back on the board at the 1:27 mark of the third period. Motzko tallied his fifth goal of the season, with Arturs Kulda getting the lone assist. At the 16:29 mark, Chicago netted their fifth goal of the game, this time from Anderson, his second of the season, while Lessard had the lone assist. The Wolves finished off the scoring at the 17:58 mark. Valabik scored off a shot from the right point, his first goal of the season. Jordan LaVallee and Rylan Kaip had the assists, as the Wolves went on to the 6-0 victory.

Tuukka Rask stopped 15 of 18 shots and Kevin Regan stopped 15 of 18 shots as well for the P-Bruins, while Ondrej Pavelec made 35 saves for the Wolves. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

By What I Heard

From what I heard, both goalies let in bad goals. As to why we couldn't score, that's another question.

Johnny Boychuk got banged around a lot, but still played. I hope that he's able to continue to do so, and that it's not an injury.

I'm also wondering WHERE all the P-Bruins fans have hidden..

Ouch...

We were due for a loss but I didn't think it would be a stinker like this. We always fair poorly when we make this trip. I'm glad we get it over with early this year, cause this trip usually is a killer for us late in the season when we are fighting for a playoff spot.

Our guys seem to have a problem playing (since they began to last year) Chicago in Chicago. Like you said, they had to have a loss, but no goals.. ouch, and well, lets hope both Tuukka and Kevin got their bad games out.
