Ack! I thought I could say that Providence just ran into a really good team, but man, on man oh man! Chicago is so dirty! Providence should have had at least one more goal (possibly two) but TWO times they did not because the "net was knocked off.." Gee.. maybe by the Chicago GOALIE?! Guys did dives and then looked at the ref. Ugh.
On another note, I do have to say that Providence just didn't match up in forcing themselves in. They did not forecheck hard enough and some defense was very poor. I hate to pick on players, but man, Matt Lashoff is not playing that well. I was super impressed tonight with the defensive abilities of Adam McQuaid, Jeff Penner and Johnny Boychuk, but I wasn't thrilled with Matt, and poor Bodnarchuk was having a rough time.
I'm also suspect on Tuukka for a goal or more..
Every forward seemed to be trying, but it just wasn't getting done. I'm glad we don't play them again, honestly.

Was not impressed with Tuukka at all. I was giving him the benfit of the doubt last season but he doesn't seem to have the drive or the passion like Regan has. I don't know what to think, but I hope it's not cause he believes he should be in Boston, that attitude will get him nowhere fast.

Thats what I hear...

Ana, I hear a lot of people voice the same concern. And I mean a lot. Its sad and I hope its not true. A lot of these guys come from Europe and think they are too good for the minors. We'll see as the season goes on. I can't see how anyone can think a poor attitude is going to help them down here. Tuukka's very young, so he has yet to mature. But Boston has a short temper and is known to give up on people fast.
Same here.. I've been concerned about Tuukka and how he'd play this year ever since reading (and posting) that article about his telling Chiarelli that he didn't think he had anything left to learn in the AHL. EEK!!!!!!!!! He's not close to NHL ready, and then thinking he is? I loved Tuukka last year, and I know most of you know he was one of my favorite players. However, this year, I also fear that he's not putting his heart into it and thinks he is too good to be here. Ir really worries me. I actually feel better if Kevin Regan is playing!
I know that they did talk about the problem that Tuukka has with letting in an early, soft goal, and he did have the same problem last year, so maybe we can give him the benefit of the doubt that he's got his emotions and attitude in check and is trying. As I told one of my friends on Friday, a hard part is that we have two rookies (just being in his second year isn't much for Tuukka since he has so much to learn), so it's hard for Tuukka to learn. And, now Scott is gone so we don't even have a former goalie around.
