Rask, P-Bruins shut out Devils

PROVIDENCE Martin St. Pierre, Ned Lukacevic and Mikko Lehtonen each had a goal and netminder Tuukka Rask made 20 saves, leading the Providence Bruins past the Lowell Devils, 3-0, last night at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
Rask picked up his second shutout of the season.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead while on a 5-on-3 power play at 17:19 of the first period. Byron Bitz worked the puck into the corner for Martins Karsums. Karsums sent it to the other side of the ice for St. Pierre, who scored his eighth goal of the season.
Providence went ahead, 2-0, at the 11:21 mark of the second period. Wacey Rabbit sent the puck out of his own end to Lukacevic breaking down the right wing. From the right faceoff circle, Lukacevic blasted the puck past Devils goaltender Jeff Frazee for his first goal of the season.
In the third period, the P-Bruins added a goal at 14:48. Brad Marchand took the puck from behind the net up the boards to Matt Marquardt, who dropped it to Lehtonen. Lehtonen skated into the slot and tallied his fifth goal of the season.
Frazee made 34 saves for the Devils.
The P-Bruins were 1-for-7 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins are back at The Dunk tomorrow against the Manchester Monarchs for Zach Hamill Poster Night (4:05).
