Short-handed goals lift Hartford past P-Bruins

HARTFORD Hartford scored two short-handed goals, including Greg Moores game-winner in the third period, as the Wolf Pack defeated the Providence Bruins, 3-2, last night at the XL Center.
After a scoreless opening period, the Wolf Pack got on the board with a short-handed goal at the 2:47 mark. Patrick Rissmiller netted his third goal of the season, while Brodie Dupont grabbed the lone assist. Hartford went ahead 2-0 at the 7:19 mark, while on the power play. David Urquhart tallied his third goal of the season with Rissmiller and Artem Anisimov recording the assists.
Providence pulled within a goal while on a 5-on-3 power play at the 13:51 mark. Martins Karsums sent the puck from the corner to Martin St. Pierre behind the net. He found Jeff Penner in the slot and Penner scored his fourth goal of the season.
In the third period, the P-Bruins tied the game at 2-all at the 10:14 mark on their second power-play goal of the evening. St. Pierre sent the puck from the corner to Johnny Boychuk at the right point where he took a shot. Wolf Pack goalie Miika Wiikman made the save, but Peter Schaefer was there to poke home the rebound.
With the P-Bruins back on the power play the Wolf Pack picked up their second short-handed goal of the evening, this one at the 15:02 mark as Moore tallied his ninth goal of the season with Dupont getting the lone assist. The goal turned out to be the game winner as Hartford went on to the 3-2 victory.
