I wasn't going to post this until I had more info, but for those that don't know, Patrice Bergeron was just hit in a play yesterday, but it was up near his head and it seems to have triggered his severe injury from last year.

He was brought to the hospital and they said that they need to have the swelling go down (this is from an interview yesterday) to know what the damage is. I saw the hit and it wasn't really severe, but I think it's because Patrice (of course) was so badly injured.

This is the worse thing that could have happened to Bergeron. Hard hits are always going to be a part of hockey. Consecutive concussions are not only career ending but could be fatal. I really feel for him because not only is he an awesome hockey player but he is an awesome human being. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

I went from our game to Boston's and they said that he did, indeed get a concussion, however they released him from the hospital on Sunday morning because he was doing "a lot better". But there is no time given as to when he'll return to the ice.

Such a shame to hear all this. I'll never forget the lock-out year that we got to have him play with us. I hope that his awesome career isn't going to be cut short. He was still just getting used to it all.
