Providence 1, Lowell 8 (ugh)

Scratches/Injured: Ryan Stokes

ACK.. no broadcast from Providence so I had to listen to Lowell's. At least they're not dumb or homers.. but I did miss knowing what is up with Ryan Stokes, whom I know was not a healthy scratch.

And, I don't know what was going on with Providence or Tuukka, but after three goals against Providence, Tuukka was pulled at 9:08 into the first period.

Hooray. . . a bit past mid-period (first) the Providence broadcast came in! Right as there was a fight. And, Jeremy Reich gets and extra two and Lowell gets ANOTHER power play and yeah, they score. Then they score seconds later.. FIVE to ZIP? This is insane.. And Lowell is in last place? Are our defensemen dead?! Are BOTH goalies having their worst nights ever?? Excuse me as I leave the room..

Oh, now Tuukka is back in net.. maybe I'll see what is next in this awful first period.

Well, it took almost the whole second period, but Providence finally got a goal. Amazing! Heck, they had 11 shots to Lowell's 4. If we could just cancel out the first period...

Well, they'd also have to cancel the last period as well.. I was doing something else online while listening. Thank goodness for the other thing because the game made me sick.

Somehow..

December 27 2008, 9:27 PM

Someone somewhere is looking out for us as Portland lost and we remain three points ahead of them. But, Providence must learn to win on the road more then once in a blue moon!

Every once in a while a tam will have a major stinker like this. In the end its just a "L". I don't expect the next game to be this bad.

Oh Yeah.. Memories

Oh yeah, I know that there seems to be one really ugly game each season. Do you remember the one back about eight years ago? I don't remember who we were playing, but John Grahame and Kay Whitmore were our goalies. John got pulled and then Kay played. Then later Kay got pulled and John play and then John got pulled.. it was a score of over 10 - 1 or we had no goals.

I was at that awful game

December 29 2008, 8:02 PM

It was in Springfield on 12/30/99 (the year after we won the cup...) final score was 14-2. My friends and I were in the lobby, tickets left for us were in the wrong name and they were trying to find them. Four goals were scored while we were in the lobby. When we got inside (with only 4 minutes played) Grahame was pulled. I think they must have switched goalies like 6 times.

The good news for us though, that year the baby bruins made it to the conference finals. we were up 3 games to 1 when one of our players kicked in a goal against Johnny that gave Hartford the win.- if we had won that one we could have had a repeat... Hartford eventually came back and won the series but it was close.

With this team, all the rookies and newbies, while all the anchors have been called up. I'll be happy with the conference finals. But lets hope they end the year on a good note this time around.

Yeah.. That is It

December 30 2008, 9:41 AM

I thought it was Spingy, and I actually thought the score was worse then I remembered! I also remember looking at the score sheet and say, "oh man, John let in x goals"? And then we'd look and say, "but Kay let in x"! I remember listening and feeling like I was in a dream because it was so insane.

Yeah, we almost made the Finals that year.. but didn't thanks to Peter Ferraro's foot. OUCH! I'll still never forget the puck bouncing in off of his foot in OT. I thought that John Grahame was going to punch him wink.gif It was a good run, though.

Oh, and it was Game Seven that gave Hartford the win. It was the crazy year where we got to swap over and, hence, we ended up playing Hartford for the Eastern Conference Finals.
