Lehtonen leads P-Bruins to shootout win in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine Mikko Lehtonen scored three goals in regulation, then added one in the shootout as the Providence Bruins defeated the Portland Pirates, 6-5, Saturday night.
Also scoring regulation goals for the P-Bruins were Brad Marchand and Matt Lashoff. In the shootout the P-Bruins got goals from Lehtonen and Wacey Rabbit.
The Pirates took a 1-0 lead at the 2:39 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. Mark Mancari tallied his 21st goal of the season.
The P-Bruins tied the game at one at the 4:29 mark. Zach Hamill sent the puck around the boards to Lehtonen in the corner. He sent the puck to the slot where Marchand scored his 12th goal of the season.
Providence took its first lead of the game at the 8:35 mark. Hamill sent the puck to Lashoff at the high slot and he netted his fifth goal of the season.
Portland tied the game at two at the 29-second mark of the second period. Marc-Andre Gragnani netted his fifth goal of the season.
The P-Bruins retook the lead at the 14:23 mark, while on the power play. Hamill had the puck along the right boards and sent it to Johnny Boychuk at the blue line. He found Lehtonen in the left faceoff circle, who tallied his 17th goal of the season.
With time about to expire in the second period, the P-Bruins grabbed a two-goal advantage at the 19:59 mark when Lehtonen netted his second goal of the game and 18th of the season.
In the third period, Portland pulled within a goal at the 5:25 mark when Darche netted his 16th goal of the season.
Providence retook its two-goal advantage at the 13:00 mark When Lehtonen scored his third goal of the game and 19th of the season.
Kennedy and Matt MacDonald then scored, tying it for Portland.
Kevin Nastiuk stopped 34 of 39 shots for the P-Bruins in regulation and Tuukka Rask stopped four of five shots in the shootout. Jhonas Enroth made 29 saves in regulation and two saves in the shootout for the Pirates.
