STAMOULIS RELEASED FROM PTO

Defenseman Made AHL Debut for P-Bruins Today

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that they have released defenseman Dinos Stamoulis from his Professional Tryout Agreement. With the move, the P-Bruins have 23 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.

Stamoulis, 25, leaves the P-Bruins after appearing in one game for Providence following this afternoon's recall. The blue-liner went scoreless with a plus-one rating in Providence's 6-4 loss to the Hershey Bears at the Giant Center. Stamoulis returns to the ECHL's Reading Royals, where he has posted career-highs with three goals, 10 assists and 13 points in 56 games. The third-year pro has spent all but one game of his career in the ECHL, suiting up for Providence, Reading, the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Toledo Storm. Overall, Stamoulis has totaled 23 points (4g, 19a) and 179 penalty minutes in 143 games.

Prior to turning pro, Stamoulis enjoyed four seasons with the Providence College Friars, amassing 27 points (7g, 20a) and 108 PIM in 142 collegiate contests. The undrafted native of Carle Place, New York, had his best undergraduate season as a junior, setting personal-highs with three goals and nine assists in 36 games for P.C.
