P-Bruins subdue Manchester

PROVIDENCE The Providence Bruins scored one goal in each period and defeated the Manchester Monarchs, 3-1, Friday night in front of 7,759 fans at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
Providence took a 1-0 advantage at the 4:34 mark of the opening period. Mikko Lehtonen stole the puck along the boards and fed rookie Zach Hamill in front of the net. Hamill poked it in for his 12th goal of the season.
The P-Bruins increased their advantage to 2-0 at 11:37 of the second period. Jeff Penner held the puck at the left point and sent it around the boards for Martin St. Pierre behind the net. St. Pierre found Johnny Boychuk at the right point, who tallied his 20th goal of the season.
Manchester pulled within a goal at 13:00 of the third period when Vladimir Dravecky scored.
The P-Bruins added an empty-net goal at 18:48 when Wacey Rabbit scored his 15th goal of the season. Brad Marchand and Boychuk got the assists.
