COURCHAINE CALLED UP TO PROVIDENCE

Goaltender Went 13-11-2 in 30 Games for OHL's Ottawa

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that goaltender Adam Courchaine has been reassigned to Providence by the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins after spending the majority of the year with the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. With the move, the P-Bruins have 29 players on their roster, including 15 forwards, 10 defensemen and four goaltenders.

Courchaine, 20, spent nearly a month with Providence late last season for his first professional experience, going 2-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against-average and .920 save percentage over two starts and one relief appearance. The young net-minder made his pro debut on April 6, 2008 versus the Manchester Monarchs, earning a shootout win with 21 saves and a four-for-four showing in the shootout.

This season, Courchaine appeared in only 30 games for Ottawa while being hampered by injuries, finishing the year with a 13-11-2 mark, along with a 3.28 GAA and two shutouts. His junior season came to an end on March 31 after Ottawa was defeated in a seven-game first round series by the Niagara IceDogs. Courchaine went 2-3 with a 3.00 GAA in the postseason, earning a 32-save shutout in Game 6 of the series before suffering an overtime loss in the deciding Game 7.

In his two junior seasons, Courchaine is 30-36-6 with a 3.25 GAA in 78 regular season games, plus a 2-7 mark and 3.56 GAA in the playoffs. The undrafted native of Kanata, Ontario, was signed by Boston on September 30, 2007.

And...

Then there were three.. I say three because they said that Keven Regan is done for the season. Time to rest the hip. He's just on our roster until the end of the regular season. I don't know if we'll get to see Adam play, but I wish we could next week... or this upcoming week -- whatever you want to call it.
