Well, I certainly hoped that they could have at least won today's game, but I can't help but be so happy and proud, and interestingly -- not even disappointed -- with the Providence Bruins! Sure, I'm a bit sad to know it's all over. However, this team did so much more then they were ever, ever supposed to do.

They were the youngest team in the AHL, and I kept losing track of how many rookies we had and then we'd have callups from the ECHL because we'd lose guys to Boston. Our top line never seemed to stay together because someone was either called up to Boston or one was injured and then Martins Karsums got traded!

We only had three veteran defensemen, and one spent most of the year injured, but they still played incredible, and I still will never believe Jeff Penner was a rookie. He played SO well! But, that defensive empty well was very hard for Providence, but they still got to the Eastern Conference Finals!

And what fun was it to watch Brad Marchand go from a confused player to a player with absolute purpose (and a real talent to getting under the other team's skin!)

I just want to say, thank you Providence Bruins.. for a great playoff run and a great season!

It's always sad when the season ends. I thought we would be lucky to win a playoff series! But they gave us great enjoyment the last few weeks. Hershey was much stronger and has many veteran players that are "seasoned" in what it takes to win the whole thing.

Providence has a good young core of players and it should be fun next year. We'll need a goalie so that will be interesting to watch. It was amazing to watch Jeff Penner grow right before us and Brad Marchand turn into the guy you would hate if played for somebody else. He is the perfect pest!

Thanks for the great year. Providence Bruinette thanks for having the Blog available to us. If in the next few days you could send a message out about who is signed and who is a free agent that would be great?

Talk soon.
