BOSTON, MA - Hockey Canada announced today that Bruins forward Milan Lucic has been named to the roster of 46 players that will attend Canadas National Mens Team orientation camp from August 24-27 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta (555 Saddledome Rise SE Calgary, AB, Canada T2G 2W1). These 46 players have been identified as candidates for upcoming international events in the 2009-10 season: the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and 2010 IIHF World Championship.

Lucic established career highs in all categories last season with 17-25=42 totals in 72 games. He also skated in 10 postseason games for the Bruins, finishing with three goals and six assists for nine points.  His plus/minus rating of +12 was the best on the team and good enough for third overall in the playoffs. 

2008-09 was Lucics second season in the NHL. In 149 career regular season games, he has notched 25 goals, 44 assists and 225 penalty minutes. In 17 postseason contests, he has recorded five goals and six assists. Lucic was originally drafted by the Bruins in the second round (50th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He won the Bruins Seventh Player Award his rookie season in 2007-08, an award voted on the by fans and given to the player who performs above and beyond expectations.
