Wolf Pack 3, P-Bruins 2: Providence loses second straight

PROVIDENCE -- The Providence Bruins' late rally fell short Sunday afternoon and they suffered their second consecutive loss, 3-2 to the Hartford Wolf Pack, before a crowd of 2,888 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

The P-Bruins trailed, 3-1, late in the game, but closed to 3-2 on a goal by Brad Marchand at 18:55 of the third period. Providence then went on the power play when Dane Byers was penalized for hooking at 19:14. But the P-Bruins were unable to capitalize and Hartford held on for the victory.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at 3:45 of the first period when Drew Fata covered a pass from Vladimir Sobotka. Hartford tied it at 12:31 on a goal by Ilkka Heikkinen.
The Wolf Pack went ahead to stay at 7:32 of the second period when Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau scored on a power play. Less than three minutes later, the Wolf Pack's Dale Weise scored on a penalty shot, making it 3-1.
Matt Dalton stopped 28 of 31 shots for the P-Bruins, while Chad Johnson made 22 saves for the Wolf Pack. The P-Bruins were 2-for-7 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
