Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand on being promoted from Providence...
I had a strong camp and when I got sent down I wanted to continue building on that...now that the opportunity has arrived, it's a pretty great thing, but I will take it day-to-day here.
On when he learned of the promotion...
[Providence head coach Rob Murray] pulled me aside into the office and told us to wait around for a while. That something might be happening, so probably a half an hour later, I was so excited and nervous, it was crazy, but a half an hour later he pulled us in again and told us we were going up. So, it was a pretty special feeling...it was great news.
On who he called when he got the news...
I called my brother first, then my parents. My brother freaked out a bit, he was pretty excited and then I called my parents and they let a few tears out. But it was a pretty special phone call.
Boston Bruins forward Vladimir Sobotka on being promoted...
I've felt pretty good, actually. We had some points and last game we played good. I got some confidence...I figure me and Marshy [Marchand] should bring some energy, you know? Finish hits. Play simple and play hard. That's what we always do...We had a really good start in Providence, so we have some confidence [coming to Boston].
