BOSTON, MA Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned forward Guillaume Lefebvre to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Lefebvre made his Boston Bruins debut earlier this season in Phoenix on Saturday, October 17. He was most recently recalled on October 22 and traveled with the team on their two game road trip to Philadelphia and Ottawa, but was a healthy scratch for both contests.

Invited to Bostons training camp on a tryout agreement, Lefebvre signed a one-year contract with Boston on September 26. He has one assist and 42 penalty minutes in five games this year for the P-Bruins.

In his NHL career, Lefebvre has posted 2-4=6 totals and 13 penalty minutes in 39 games with the Flyers, Penguins and Bruins. He was originally drafted by the Flyers in the seventh round (227th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

I'm glad about that, but actually, they should have sent Trent Whitfield back as well. Both were health scratches. Sigh..
