P-Bruins 5, Sharks 3: LoVecchios two goals lift Providence

WORCESTER, Mass. Jeff LoVecchio scored two goals and sparked the Providence Bruins to a 5-3 victory over the Worcester Sharks on Sunday at the DCU Center.
The P-Bruins jumped out to a 1-0 advantage at the 4:35 mark of the opening period as Jamie Arniel tipped in a blast by Matt Marquardt.
Providence made it 2-0 at the 9:26 mark. Kirk MacDonald had the puck halfway up the boards and fed Jordan Knackstedt in the right circle. Knackstedt found LoVecchio in the slot, and LoVecchio netted his sixth goal of the season.
The Sharks pulled within a goal 43 seconds into the second period when Danny Groulx tallied his second goal of the season.
Worcester then tied it at 2-2 at the 16:13 mark on Steven Zalewskis sixth goal of the season.
Providence regained the lead at the 5:10 mark of the third period when Mikko Lehtonen tallied his seventh goal of the season.
At the 18:20 mark, the Sharks tied it at 3-3 on Brandon Mashinters goal.
But seven seconds later, the P-Bruins went ahead, 4-3. Jeff Penner and Craig Weller combined to find Drew Larman in front of the net, and he tallied his first goal of the season.
LoVecchio added an empty-net goal at the 19:34 mark.
Dany Sabourin, who picked up an assist on the final goal, stopped 27 of 30 shots for the P-Bruins while Alex Stalock made 18 saves for the Sharks.
