After so many afternoons of thunderstorms there's a rainbow peaking behind the building across the street. I don't think I've seen a rainbow since I was a teenager. It reminded me of a story I'd heard about the writers John Cowper Powys and his brother Llewelyn. They were walking along a country road in Dorset after rain and a rainbow appeared. John announced, "It's a sign. Things are about to change for me." And Llewelyn stopped and asked him, "Why isn't it a sign for me, too?"
