Brewerton & Fulton Results

Friday morning we all headed for Brewerton Speedwau in New York. The closer we got to the track the worse the skies looked. When we arrived everything was dry so the track proceeded with the program. Ray started in the rear of his heat race and finished 2nd. By the time the feature rolled around it had started to rain but not hard enough for the track to delay the racing action. Ray started 12th in the feature and at the drop of the green he started to pick his way to the front. Mike Miller started in front of Ray and got to the front pretty quickly. Ray worked his way past several cars at a time. Through several yellows and restarts with at times 5 lapped cars between him and the leader he managed to finish 3rd in the 25 lap main event. Mike Miller took the win with Steve Buckwalter in 2nd.
Brewerton Speedway was very gracious in pushing the midget show through first before any rains came. After the midget feature they got the modified feature in and then it began to rain and it rained steady through the night and into the morning. I though for sure that we would be coming home Saturday morning. We did the breakfast thing and then headed to the motel where the cars were to prepare them just incase we got to race at Fulton on Saturday night.
After all the maintenance was complete we headed for the track. When we arrived it was quite nice. The sun was out and the skies had cleared. It got to be a little cool but a great night for racing. Ray was not happy with the car after warm ups and they made a lot of changes to try to get it better for the heat race. He then started in the last row of the heat race and charged his way to the front to take the win. He then started 9th in the feature. He picked his way through the cars in front of him and had the lead by about the 7th lap. He held off charges from both Steve Buckwalter & Mike Miller to get the win.
