Hi, My name is Le Ann, I am 24 with three girls, Emmalee is almost 7, Elizabeth is 5 and Ryan, who has DS, is 5 months (tomorrow). Ran across this website as I was searching for information on umbilical hernias. When Ryan was born, they told me she had an umbilical hernia that would clear itself up. Recently though, I started to wonder if it actually is a hernia. I was looking at pictures online of hernias, and it seems to me that they are all round? Ryan's goes from right above her belly button to right at her xiphoid process (bottom of her rib cage) so it's probably 3 inches long or so and is only maybe an inch wide. If anyone else's baby has had this- what were you told about it? Is it really a hernia? Thanks to anyone who can help me!
